Our planet Earth is just a tiny part of the universe, and at the moment it is the only place where humans can live.
We have always polluted the environment. But until now, pollution has not been such a huge problem. People lived in rural areas and could not create pollution so great that it could lead to a dangerous situation on a global scale.
With the development of industrial cities, which produce huge amounts of pollutants, the problem became real. These days, the planet is in grave danger. Global warming, acid rain, air and water pollution, and overpopulation are problems that threaten human life on earth.
Every year, global industry pollutes the air we breathe. A large number of cities suffer from smog. Tropical forests are being cut down. Their disappearance disturbs the balance of oxygen. As a result, rare species of animals, birds, fish and plants are disappearing. Many seas, rivers and lakes are filled with poison: industrial and nuclear waste, chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Pollution of the air and world ocean, destruction of the ozone layer is a consequence of careless interaction of man with nature, a sign of ecological crisis.
People need to think about their attitude to the environment. Some progress has already been made in this direction. Various organizations hold numerous conferences to discuss the problems faced by ecologically poor regions, including the Aral Sea, the Southern Urals, the Kuzbass, the Donbass, and Chernobyl. Greenpeace is also working hard to save the environment.
What can we do to save our planet? First of all, people should switch to alternative forms of energy, such as solar or wind power. Second, the use of nuclear energy should be banned. Third, we must engage in recycling and recycling of materials. This is the art of turning waste into new products. It would be nice if people started riding bicycles instead of driving cars. We have an obligation to protect nature. If everyone cared, it would make a difference.
On our website you will find information about how to protect the environment, which organizations are doing it, what everyone can do to protect it, and more.
